Reading thrillers, action-adventure, horror, and science fiction became a main staple of my upbringing and have remained a great source of enjoyment throughout adulthood. Comic books were an early primer, and I'm sure they helped to emboss a certain moral compass onto an impressionable mind.
The science part of science fiction is what triggers my imagination the most. Origins of life, evolution, the universe, mulitple dimensions, healthcare, and psychology all hold my interest and fascination, if only from a layperson's perspective. Just as compelling are stories about UFO (UAP) encounters and other disciplines that span the parapsychology spectrum. Along with UFO investigations, the search for Bigfoot gets special attention.
Having lived a bit and known the loss of loved ones, near death experiences (NDE's) are a captivating study as well. Some of my personal spirituality is reflected in those accounts. What also captures my heart are local pet rescue organizations, such as those where Phil and I have each adopted many fur babies over the years.
